Spaziofarini6 was founded in 2008 by Giovanna Lalatta, a creative alumni of Parsons’ School of Design. After studies in interior design, art, and photography and a professional life in the different fields of photography the project of creating Spaziofarini6, a new centre devoted to photography in Milano came to life. Situated near the artistic districts of Brera, Garibaldi and Isola, in the beautiful location of a traditional Milanese historical building with courtyards, this dynamic structure devoted to photography and the visual arts offers a complete range of activities. In its multi-functional spaces Spaziofarini6 is both a gallery and a learning place, with a rich exhibition program, educational and training activities for adults and junior, professional workshops, sale of fine art photography prints for collectors, dark room and shooting spaces for professional photographers and amateurs. Spaziofarini6 FineArt Gallery promotes the multiplicity and the different languages of the artistic production trying to offer a wide and always updated vision on the scene of artistic photography.
At the MIA Fair 2012 Spaziofarini6 will present the two last works of Alessandro Belgiojoso – the already known “Redentore” and a preview of the latest work “Primary Forest”. The subject of the Redentore series (2009-2011) is the ‘Festa del Redentore’ which is customarily held in Venice on the third Saturday in July. Originally a feast day commemorating the ending of the plague of 1576, it is also an affirmation of faith and a celebration of life. On the eve of the feast, it is customary for Venetians to garland and decorate their boats and to congregate at St Mark’s basin. Belgiojoso’s flush mounted Lamda prints evoke the atmospheric and romantic backdrop of the evening celebrations with the explosive light of the fireworks reflected in the city’s lagoon. After having worked on the subject of horizontal frontiers in his book “Corea, un viaggio impossibile?” which is about political boundaries and their crossing, and on vertical frontiers in the work“Axis Mundi” Alessandro Belgiojoso in his last work “Primary Forest” confronts a new dimentions of primigenial and interior frontiers. Rigorously documenting his exploration journey of 150km by foot, canoe and train, in the Gabonian primary forest in central Africa – with his camera he gives us images of entangled forests that are like reflections of our subconscious, bringing back the questions of “how we were”, of the memory of the cycles of life, of the Alfa-Omega.
