Galleria Forni has been one of the reference for lovers of figurative painting and sculpture since 1967. After the death of Tiziano Forni, founder of the Gallery, in 2008, his daughter Paola took over the direction. Since then, Paola Forni has been concentrating on both Italian and foreign artists who, among the countless expressions of avant-garde, have chosen to express themselves through figurative painting and sculpture. Photography has been lately introduced and is getting more and more attention. Several exhibitions are now dedicated to contemporary photographers. Over the years the Art Gallery in Bologna supplemented its activities with other art galleries: two abroad, first in Amsterdam, between the 70s and 80s, then in Tokyo, until 1990, and two in Italy, in Milan and Ragusa until last year. Amongst the countless exhibitions held, the shows of the following artists deserve to be mentioned: Morandi, De Chirico, Wyeth, Marino Marini, Depero, Sironi, Clerici, Ipousteguy, Otto Dix, Ben Nicholson, Allen Jones, Tübke, Sutherland, Afro, Fontana, Melotti, Morlotti. Drawing from a stable of established artists, the gallery has been renowned for its constant search of emerging artists. Several miscellaneous exhibitions have been held over the years involving artists of the past and of the present time, demonstrating the continuity of figurative expression. We can mention “From Boccioni to Bacon” by Marco Di Capua and Vittorio Sgarbi, “Errant Europeans” by Marco Di Capua, “80 years. 40 of exhibitions” by Tiziano Forni, “Naked human figures” by Enzo Siciliano, “Flowers”, “Acqua”, “Mare Nostrum” and “Les Arbres” by Paola Forni.
