Free flights

When a bird takes to the air, it carries with it more than just a flutter of wings: it carries the idea of freedom. Suspended between heaven and earth, it draws invisible lines in space, like an ephemeral writing that only the wind can read. Its lightness fascinates us, its power impresses us, but it is especially its ability to cross the horizon without hindrance that gives rise in us this ancient desire: that of flying away.
Since always, man looks up at these air travelers, envious of their grace. Their flight embodies what we sometimes grope for: the absence of limits, the possibility of exceeding the weight of our invisible chains. Each deployed wing resonates like a promise: there is a way to escape the heaviness, to free oneself from the boundaries of the ground.
Man, while observing the bird, does not only see an animal, but the mirror of a dream. From Leonardo da Vinci to the pioneers of aviation, the whole story bears witness to this aspiration: to reach the sky, to rise above the world, to taste the same intoxication as the feather in the air.
Thus, when a flight of birds crosses the firmament, it reminds that freedom is never completely out of reach. She is there, in the breath that carries them, in the momentum that lifts them, and in the persistent desire of man to follow them.
