Magdalena Solé is an award-winning social documentary photographer. The tonality of her images maps the experience of her work. She is known for her sensitive expressions of culture through distinctive color artistry; visual language has been her life’s work. Whether richly saturated or time worn, Solé uses color to encapsulate a range of feelings.

Solé is known for her award winning work in the Mississippi Delta. Her Delta is a photographic exploration of the communities in the Deep South, evoking visions of sharecroppers, plantations and the sound of the Blues. Solé’s in-depth study of the region was published in 2012 as a book titled “New Delta Rising”. Her current work includes: “After the Water Receded”, an exploration of the aftermath of the great 2011 Tohoku disaster in Japan; and “Cuba —At a Crossroad”, a photographic journey of a country on the brink of change.
