Lyon : Laurent Camut, There is a Light

Preview

After Laurent Camut’s exhibition entitled: Who’s afraid of ghosts doesn’t know how to see the night” that the Vrais Rêves gallery devoted to him, he is back with new work showing a diverse and evolving unity. In fact Laurent Camut continues jointly his “humanist” exploration across time and the history of art. After his photographs, strongly coloured by the expressionism of the 20th century, provided the work of Francis Bacon’s work is considered expressionist, Laurent Camut seems to have returned to a calmer vision, closer to the Flemish and Dutch painters of the 17th century, with, in a rhythmical style, a subtle bridge between the portrait and landscape. In the background, an intangible mystery, like a persistent shadow and you don’t get tired of reading the details, of soaking up the light…
