The series Resort (2009-2011), recently exhibited at James Hyman Gallery, is a documentary work of family breaks at Butlins, Bognor Regis. This special edition book of 100 signed and numbered copies includes a 10 x 12.5 ins print of the purchaser’s choice. The publication includes approximately 40 photographs from the series with essays by David Chandler, Stephen Bull and Dr. Roni Brown.
The included print will also be signed and there will be no more than 100 such prints made, each only sold with its accompanying publication.
The series was commissioned by Butlin’s and Pallant House Gallery, Chichester and supported by the University of the Creative Arts to celebrate the resort’s 75th Anniversary. It was originally exhibited at Pallant House, Chichester and James Hyman Gallery, London. Anna Fox‘s series explores this iconic British brand from a unique vantage point. Produced over a two year period, the series captures the many facets of the modern holiday experience.
Specifically focusing on the Bognor Regis resort, Fox has created a group of large format, hyper-real contemporary colour images which navigate the resort’s geography of leisure in all its lurid allure.
