Behind this exhibition, there is also a very nice love story. The one that began more than 35 years ago between Florence Nuñez and Bernard Plossu. They tell it very well!

“Françoise and Bernard met at a picnic some… years ago! In the countryside at the home of the Dieuzaides, where Françoise was an intern. Bernard had met Jean Dieuzaide when he came to Taos on the highlands of New Mexico, in the footsteps of Strand and Weston. Later, Françoise and Bernard met again and traveled together in Mexico. Upon Bernard’s definitive return from the USA, they married in 1986. Their son Joaquim was born the same year, then that of Manuela, their daughter, in 1988. Françoise and Bernard still traveled a lot together, sometimes with the children, sometimes without, as long as they are young (thanks to Françoise’s parents!). They travel to India, Jaisalmer, Turkey to Malatya and Nemrud Dag, Greece several times, either to the Dodecanese Islands or to Athens and Thessaloniki. These trips take place at the end of the 80’s. They go with baby Joaquim, to Stromboli in 1987 and with Joaquim and Manuela to live on the island of Lipari. They also go to Portugal, to Coimbra. And they leave with the children in the region of Françoise’s paternal family, in Almeria, where they finally settle for a good 4 years, in the region of Cabo de Gata, with the children at the municipal school. learning Spanish with… the Andalusian accent! Then it is the return to a tidy life in France. In 1991 they settled in the south of France and began a more sedentary life: no more nomadism together! … The travels continue, but separately. ”
