Shut down in August 2013 following disputes with its financier, Le Journal de la Photographie resumed publication under a different name, The Eye of Photography. This daily bilingual newsletter covers current events in photography, with articles on exhibitions, books, festival and art auctions, written by a team of thirty, with guest contributors for special events. The publication, which had 240,000 unique visitors when it closed, was able to relaunch with the help of patrons from the photo world. It plans to stay in business through donations, corporate sponsors and charging for certain services. A Chinese version will be launched in early 2014, with Italian and Russian editions planned for the future.
