Mexican photojournalist Daniel Aguilar has won the Prize for Photography in the 2011 King of Spain International Journalism Prize, for an image taken in Haiti after the devasting earthquake last year. Born in 1971, he began his career in 1989 working for newspapers Excelsior and El Universal, and then went to Reuters covering Latin American countries’ political and social conflicts, he has received many honorable mentions as well as awards including the National Award for Journalism in Mexico and two World Press Photo Awards.
