Jean-Marc Caimi and Valentina Piccinni – Rhome

Preview

Jean-Marc Caimi and Valentina Piccinni live in Rome, the city from which they were adopted.
After years of exploring other worlds, both photographers felt the urgency of getting under the skin of the city.
Their journey through Rome revealed microcosms that intertwine in a domino effect of encounters and situations.
Places, moments of private life, atmospheres: a scenario outside stereotypes, far from the tourist imagination, without filters.

With Rhome, Caimi and Piccinni, present the second chapter of a long-term project of three “cities in transition” (Naples, Rome, Istanbul): vulnerable metropolis, in the balance, always exposed to the mutation.

Rhome won the first prize of the FUAM Dummy Book Award, it has recently become a book containing 128 images from the considerable number of photographs that make up the entire work.
The chapter of the long-term project devoted to Naples was published by the publisher Witty Kiwi under the title “Fork”.
The choice of images presented and their presentation is the result of the collaboration of Caimi and Piccinni with Lorenzo Castore, photographer with whom the duo shares an artistic and human vision.

The prints were made by Digid’a Fine Art Prints by Davide di Gianni.
