The Thierry Bigaignon Gallery and the(M) Editions

Preview

The Thierry Bigaignon Gallery invests in the publishing house of photography books the (M) editions and strengthens its positions in the art photography sector. Thierry Bigaignon tells us.

I met Marie Sepchat on the occasion of the release of Proxemics by Renato D’Agostin and I was immediately seduced by her approach based on quality rather than quantity. The art publishing sector is clearly losing momentum, but Marie, by focusing on exceptional books, but also on scarcity, has found a very unique position.

This young publishing house created and directed by Marie Sepchat has indeed already acquired a solid reputation on the highly fought for publishing market, and in particular for the publishing of photographic books. Her particularly sharp positioning is certainly not for nothing! Marie Sepchat has made the choice since its creation in 2015 to publish books thought and conceived as objects, by betting on the extreme quality of its publications, by publishing only very limited editions and paying particular attention to the design of the publications.

Hailed for her creativity, noted for the quality of her publications and already laureate of several awards, the company (M) editions could only attract my attention!

With the (M) editions on the one hand and Collectors Confidential on the other hand (our web platform that only offers rare, special and / or unique works –  www.collectorsconfidential.com), the gallery is now also present with the print on one side and on the web on the other, with a strong and clear positioning: photography, quality and rarity.

For Marie Sepchat, this equity investment reinforces her equity and allows her to look to the future with even greater confidence and serenity. “Thierry Bigaignon and I are used to working together on various projects but this rapprochement will help push this collaboration even further. Beyond our shared love for photography, we share the same vision. This merger will reinforce our visibility, affirm our presence on the shows and on the web and will give us the means of our ambitions “.

This rapprochement was symbolized on Saturday May 25 with the creation of a dedicated bookshop space within the gallery, as well as by the launch of the new book by Renato D’Agostin, a concept book published in only 100 copies, which accompanies the “Harmony of Chaos” exhibition running until August 31st.
