La Galerie GADCOLLECTION presents Solo Show, an exhibition dedicated to photographer Stéphane de Bourgies which invites us into the world of a portraitist who has made the human gaze the heart of his work.
For over four decades, he has photographed those who shape our collective imagination: artists, writers, actors, thinkers, and public figures. In his images, celebrity often fades behind a more intimate presence. Stéphane de Bourgies is less concerned with freezing an official image than with capturing a moment of truth, a tension, a sometimes imperceptible fragility.
Stéphane de Bourgies’ work is distinguished by its great formal restraint. The settings disappear, the compositions are simplified, and light becomes a precise tool that sculpts faces and reveals gazes.
