My Alberto Moravia
Alberto Moravia was an Italian journalist, short-story writer and novelist.
Since he was my family’s member, I keep young memories of the man, Alberto Pincherle, rather than traces of the public figure.
That’s why on the occasion of the 30th death anniversary I decided to approach my intimate journey into the writer Moravia, leaving the new version of feelings melting to the old ones.
Thanks to the Roman Superintendence and to the Alberto Moravia Association, I entered his house along the Tevere river in Rome.
The intention was to fill my mental gap with sketches evoked by the physical space where the intellectual lived and composed. So I looked for his Olivetti, for the first copy of Gli Indifferenti, for the gifts of his friends artists, for his favourite armchair.
The result is a visual madeleine building up my personal public version of Alberto Moravia.
