FOODPHOTO FESTIVAL is the largest and most important international exhibition and conference on contemporary food photography. From the 4th till the 7th of June professionals in the field of food photography will meet for cutting-edge workshops and conferences. Following this, a selection of top food photographers and food stylists will be exhibited to the general public. The FOODPHOTO ART EXHIBITION will be open from the 8th of June till the 30th of June from Mon-Fri 11-17h / Sat-Sun 10-16h at the Old Theatre, Banegårdspladsen 4, 7100 Vejle. The entrance is free of charge.

FOODPHOTO FESTIVAL provides a unique opportunity for professionals in Food Photography and Food Styling to meet others in their field, exchange experiences, discuss trends, discover new products and find partners for the realization of new projects. To date, participants from over 24 countries (Australia, South Africa, USA, Russia, Vietnam and all of Europe, among others) already registered.
FOODPHOTO ART EXHIBITION comprises in total over 1000 photographs of 106 international photographers and stylists selected by curator and festival founder Günter Beer. Thereof the works of 17 photographers including 250 images will be shown in a framed exhibition while the others will be presented as photo projections at the exhibition venue.

The exhibition spans far more than classical dish photography. Among others, works by the award-winning English photographer Jonathan Knowles will be shown, who was inspired by the cult TV series “Mad Men” to create a variety of cocktail pictures.

Artistic images by leading and internationally acclaimed food, travel and lifestyle photographer Petrina Tinslay (Australia) shows bone fragments on a black background or blackish, geometrically cut pieces of cheese. Petrina photographed the series “Alchemy” together with the English stylist David Morgan.

Dutch photographer Saskia de Wal celebrates pure pleasure with her black-and-white portraits of women.

The reportage “Golden days before they end” by the young Austrian photographer Klaus Pichler is a swan song for these little bars in Vienna that have shaped their customers’ existences for decades.

The Dane Mikkel Jul Hvilshøj leads us through precise, even meticulous stylistic life photography in the series “Eva Trio” with butter pyramids and precisely cut olive oil stains.

The Cologne-based photographer Manfred Rave breaks through the barrier between aquarelle painting and food photography with his series “Eat Art”.

The exhibited photographers & stylists originate from more than 25 countries, spread over 6 continents.

The official opening will be on the 5th of June at 16h in the main festival location, with a welcome speech by the Festival founder and food photographer Günter Beer and a tour to visit the exhibitions.

The FOOD FOR YOUR EYES Exhibition from the 2017 Festival was successfully exhibited this spring in the art museum Kunsthalle Erfurt, Germany, where the balancing act between food photography and art has been successfully completed.
