Fontaine Obscure / Lecture, discussion & screening – Underwater photography

Preview

z-Axis

Two underwater photographers invite the public to discover a world that is as fascinating as it is little-known. Through images, personal accounts and technical insights, this event offers an immersion into the underwater world, the only space where one can move in three dimensions.

Maxime Elkaïm

Born in 1988, I have been practising photography since my teenage years. Discovering scuba diving opened up a new realm of exploration: that of the underwater world. Since 2020, I have been developing a photographic project dedicated to underwater landscapes, particularly in Marseille. Deeply concerned by the increasing fragility of marine ecosystems, I seek to reveal a world rarely accessible and to share the experience of immersion through images, allowing the viewer to dive without leaving the surface.

Erwan Duval

Passionate about the outdoors, the depths and sharing my knowledge, I hold a DEJEPS qualification in Underwater Activities, am a Molchanov Wave 2 certified freediving instructor and a Class 2b scuba diver. It was only natural that photography emerged as the best way for me to share the beauty and emotion of a world that few people have the chance to encounter. Together with Maxime, my diving and photography partner, we invite you to immerse yourself in our shared passion: underwater photography.

The photographers will bring some underwater photography equipment along to make the talk and discussion more interactive 🙂
