Here is the introduction of the artistic director of the festival, Jérôme Lepioufle

After an exceptional year in many respects and a start to 2021 which promises to be just as difficult for the world of culture, the Pluie d´Images festival would like to thank all of its partners for their support, trust and loyalty. It is thanks to all these actors, the network woven over the years and the development of various partnerships that the festival can take place this year. While many cultural venues remain closed, the festival had to reinvent itself to offer programming accessible to as many people as possible and this is why many exhibits are presented outdoors.

” Out of sync ‘”: this is the common thread of the 16th edition of the festival which is therefore delightful and proposes to take a step aside to discover the unusual, the bizarre, the pretenses, the mess in a joyful or ironic way and without voyeurism but also to revive and share memories, show the absurdity of everyday life, evoke holidays that are sometimes more nightmarish than seemingly pleasant or to show their superficiality or their wacky and sometimes poetic side. These photographers show a good sense of humor or irony which are essential elements in understanding the funny and comical side of life and the surrealism of reality.

So it’s a different festival in its form, a little “offbeat”, that we are proposing but that we hope cheerful like a nose-thumbing at the gloom surrounding it.
