The RealTravelPics organizes a workshop with Irina Popova in Amsterdam from 25 to 29 April 2019 at the Paper Fetish Photobook Cafe.
Evening presentation at Paper Fetish Photobook Cafe on 24 April 2019
“We knew so little about each other. We lay mostly submerged, like ice floes with our visible social selves projecting only cool and white. Here was a rare sight below the waves, of a man’s privacy and turmoil, of his dignity upended by the overpowering necessity of pure fantasy, pure thought, by the irreducible human element” – Ian McEwan, Amsterdam –
During 5 days of intensive workshop you will work on an individual project under the direction of Irina.
The goal is to find your path and develop your photographic project paying particular attention to the connection between your inner world and your photography; comparing yourself with the subject of your investigation, working on the story but also on your emotions and your experience.
The first day of the course will be dedicated to the vision of the individual portfolio and the definition of the workshop’s personal project.
After the portfolio discussion all the participants will receive the personal assignment and get a feedback after taking each step of approaching the project.
During the workshop, through moments of collective review and personal feedback, you will receive advice on: how finding your subject, how approaching the photography work, the creative imagination, the conscious finding of your personal method and strategy. In the end we’ll print a zine with the works of the participants.
The challenge is: how ready are you to be honest with yourself and your photography?
