At the beginning of the 20th century, the Petit Palais used to buy at the Salon of living artists to constitute his young collection. Since the transfer of the most recent works to the Museum of Modern Art of the City of Paris when it was created in 1961, the collections of the Petit Palais stopped in 1914. To reconnect this thread with contemporary creation, the museum chose to invite each year, for four years, an artist to dialogue with his prestigious old fund. Valérie Jouve, a major figure in the contemporary art scene and a committed artist, takes up the challenge this fall with 50 works presented in the permanent collections circuit.
