For its third edition, the Itinerances Foto (IF) festival, created by the Itinerances association, whose vocation is to support creation, will bring together 33 photographic artists in Sète, a Mediterranean harbor south of Montpellier. The festival will take place from May 24 to June 9, 2025, in more than twenty places, and will offer a series of meetings and events.
This event will be preceded as a prelude by a flagship exhibition of three guest photographers, at the Chapelle du Quartier Haut, an emblematic place in Sète, from May 10 to June 1, 2025. Visitors will appreciate the works of Anne-Lise Broyer, Didier Ben Loulou, and Alain Ceccaroli.
The theme of this 2025 edition – Shores and drifts – reflects our attachment to Sète and explores our relationship with the Mediterranean region, whose history has often been tumultuous. The choice of photographers focuses on presenting artistic and cultural mixing from here and elsewhere.
Some works propose the reappropriation of ancient techniques, others the search for film practices according to eco-responsible processes.
With this new edition, Itinerances Foto highlights the talent, originality, and diversity of photographers, of all generations, known or less known, near or far. These artists are brought together to question our relationship with the world and open new horizons…
IF 2025 will offer a stroll through the city, along its canals and the old city that overlook them. Galleries, workshops, walls, museums, boats and gardens will present photographs revealing singular, unexpected or poetic universes.
Meetings with photographers, conferences, screenings, including one dedicated to the magazine DE L’AIR which will celebrate its 25th anniversary on this occasion, will animate this festival. A living photograph, in motion, and in resonance with other art forms embedded in a unique setting, Sète!
From 24 May to 9 June 2025, the Itinérances Foto (IF) exhibition will bring together 33 photographic artists in over twenty locations in Sète, offering a series of encounters and events.
The event is preceded by a flagship exhibition of work by three guest photographers at the Chapelle du Quartier Haut, Sète’s landmark venue, from 10 May to 1 June 2025, featuring the work of Anne-Lise Broyer, Didier Ben Loulou and Alain Ceccaroli.
