La sabbia del tempo
This portfolio is freely inspired by a poem by the great Italian poet Gabriele D’Annunzio who wrote on an idle summer afternoon interpreting his hand as if it were an hourglass from which the warm sand slips and with it the flow of existence, the beginning and the end …
Enzo Crispino
As the warm sand flows lightly
Through the hollow of the Idle Hand,
my heart felt that the day was shorter.
And a sudden anxiety assailed my heart
For the approach of the humid equinox
That blurs the gold of the salty beaches.
To the sands of Time the hand urna
It was, hourglass my palpitating heart,
The growing shadow of every vain stem
Almost the shadow of a needle in a silent quadrant
