Le Huit Rive Gauche will be presenting the series Entre-Deux by the young photographer Yassine Hajji through March 12th, 2015.
“Entre-Deux aims to show the architectural dimension of basketball. By photographing the sport in an urban setting, the graphic elements of the cities are linked to their respective basketball courts. The courts are invisible to an amateur’s eye, but in this series they are seen as architectural objects. With a complementary work on textures and color, I obtain a methodical, almost religious sublimation. Having played (when possible) on each of the courts, we can see in this series of photographs a means of making a list of past actions, of memories of a given moment, camouflaged by an apparent objectivity. By sharing my passion for basketball in a different way, from a totally graphic perspective, I hope to shine a light on inaccessible parallels.”
