Dominique Issermann, My Gallery, That’s Roissy!

Preview

It’s a bold move. In the middle of the most important photography week in the world, every day until December 9th, Dominique Issermann will get thirty or forty times the audience of all the festivals and other photography manifestations in Paris. And yes, the Roissy airport is her gallery, with some 180,000 visitors daily. Dominique Issermann’s photographs will be displayed simultaneously on 470 screens in all eight terminals. In contrast to traditional exhibitions, the photographer decided to animate the 80 images selected from her archives and project them on the billboards of JCDecaux. By extending their daring offer, the Paris Airport and the advertising company Decaux took a big gamble. This is an unprecedented enterprise. The exhibition has no beginning or end. It adapts to the travelers and seeks to surprise the viewers throughout its duration. We are devoting our entire edition today to this amazing event. Dominique Issermann is an astonishing figure: she is very private and intransigent; a perfectionist, she stands out in the French photography scene. Perhaps the handful of texts by Guibert, Sollers, Depardon and Saillard that follow will offer you an insight into the personality of this artist.
