I came to photography a little late in my life. Yet I sometimes think that all the paths I have followed so far lead me to this life.
Today, photography has become my daily life, it’s what helps me get up in the morning and dream at night, that’s what gives meaning to my life.
Art photography gives me real freedom, I can give free rein to my imagination. I do not try to provoke but I do not forbid myself anything, I make images that have a meaning for me, images that speak to me.
I meet my models at random on my way, in the street, in a bar.
I look for atypical faces, or a touching look, a head, a particular profile. I am attracted to humble people, introversion moves me, attracts me and intimidates me.
For me, painting or photographing is a way of expressing myself without using words, a form of language, another way of communicating.
I do not take pictures for others, I do them for myself … I could have chosen not to show them, but I chose to share them, as if to put myself in danger.
My images are a quest. My models are the supports of my creations, they are also the actors. From their faces, their bodies, their attitudes are born characters who look like me … These boys tormented on the border of adolescence and adulthood make me think of the boy that I was at the same age … As if my pictures were self-portraits”.
