The EXILES / REMINISCENCES trilogy evokes a family history of emigration over four generations. France, Germany and Italy, in turn countries of exile, intersect and merge into series of images mixing past and present, imaginary and reminiscences. Christine Delory-Momberger searches each image, photographing it and re-photographing it in an incessant quest, trying to cross its surface to reveal the hidden part of an individual and collective story. Faces emerge, silhouettes emerge, landscapes appear, and new images come together, crossed by a dull violence, forming an uncertain, haunted story, that she makes her own.
This trilogy consists of three parts / chapters
– stretching out over the abysses
– in the breath of the labyrinth
– disappeared from the living
