Cédric Delsaux, Back to the Stars

Preview

Began in Paris fourteen years ago, this Cédric Delsaux series, after having been exhibited almost everywhere around the world, is coming back to the capital for a new phase of this work that combines daily life and fantasy with dexterity. Its name: Back to the Stars.

In fact, through the mere confrontation between reality and science-fiction, Dark Lens creates a world. Everything happens as if the characters of the series definitively settled on Earth, bringing with them their immemorial power. These new residents are now equipped with their own vessels, still inspired by the Hollywood saga, but recreated in an Earthly fashion, with technology and design borrowed from a previous human world.

With this approach, Delsaux explores a new genre, fantasy reality, and continues his trials on the notion of the hybrid. By this device, he transforms each parcel of territory into a possible war zone or fantasy, making each bit of territory ludicrous. One can also see a smart way to divert from the contemporary myth that became Star Wars in order to convoke the worries and ambitions of a time whose loss of great stories left a gaping chasm.
