Call for application – Rencontres Automne Photographique en Champsaur

Preview

This is one of the most attractive photography events.

The Regards Alpins association is organizing the 12th edition of its “Photographic Autumn in Champsaur” Meetings on October 4 and 5, 2025, in Forest-Saint-Julien (Hautes-Alpes). The event will focus on the theme: “Photographic Dialogue with… Colette.”

You still have a few days to submit your application.

After Jean Giono, Samivel, Jack London, Francis Ponge, Alexandra David-Néel, Henri Bosco, Alice in Wonderland, OuLiPo, La Fontaine’s Fables, and “My Favorite Book,” this year’s edition offers interested photographers a photographic dialogue with a great figure of French literature: Colette.

The event will take place at the Manse multi-purpose hall in the town of Forest-Saint-Julien (Hautes-Alpes). It will be open to the public free of charge on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

During previous editions, many people came from the Hautes-Alpes department, as well as from neighboring departments. This public success thus validated the relevance of the concept of these meetings combining photography and literature, which allow visitors to discover or rediscover the work of a writer, seen by photographers—from all over France and abroad—who have worked specifically on a specific theme.

The success of these meetings also demonstrated the value and importance of offering a cultural event of this type and this level of artistic quality in Champsaur.

These meetings are open to all photographers and authors, professional or amateur, and to any other artist or author who uses photography as a tool or medium. Artists must submit works related to the theme of this 2025 edition, a theme that may be addressed in all its possible and imaginable aspects: real or imaginary, addressing human, economic, ethnographic, naturalist, scientific, environmental, architectural, historical themes, etc.

Preference will be given to works by authors demonstrating a truly personal and original interpretation of the universe and ideas of the selected work.

While artists are given considerable latitude in the modalities of artistic expression—including the possibility of combining photography with other techniques of expression in composite works (painting, writing, graphic design, engraving, calligraphy, drawing, etc.)—photography must nevertheless remain essential and predominant in the presentation of the works.

Interested artists must submit their complete and final application by June 30, 2025, the final deadline.
