Book: Autres Amériques by Sebastiao Salgado at Contrejour

Preview

In 1985, Contrejour published the first book by Sebastião Salgado, Autres Amériques. Forty-nine images from this classic work, reproduced here in double-page spreads, are a powerful selection of the photographs Salgado shot over the course of several trips to Latin America between 1977 and 1984. Awarded the City of Paris/Kodak Award when released, Autres Amériques was published in four languages, and marked the photographer’s first step in a long career  sheddling light on the fates of the oppressed and threats to the environment. This new edition features an introduction by Claude Nori.
