“Bill Cunningham Was There” with John Kurdewan and Steven Stolman

Preview

Bill Cunningham “turned fashion photography into his own branch of cultural anthropology on the streets of New York” (The New York Times). Authors John Kurdewan and Steven Stolman present their new coffee-table book about the beloved photographer, Bill Cunningham Was There (Rizzoli, 2021), based on their conversation about “Working for Bill” at the Museum nearly two years ago. Author and journalist Amy Fine Collins will introduce their talk.

Nearly two years ago, John Kurdewan and Steven Stolman began their conversation about “Working for Bill” at the Museum of the City of New York. That conversation ultimately turned into the book, Bill Cunningham Was There (Rizzoli, 2021). Join us in-person for the coauthors’ first NYC presentation and signing of their book chronicling the singular Cunningham, “who turned fashion photography into his own branch of cultural anthropology on the streets of New York” (NY Times).
