Be-Part Waregem : Braeckman – Fieret – Kooiker – Štrba

Preview

On Sunday March 7, the Braeckman – Fieret – Kooiker – Štrba photographic exhibition, bringing together works by these four artists, opens its doors at Be-Part Waregem. It will run until Sunday May 30.

Braeckman | Fieret | Kooiker | Štrba aims to create a meaningful exchange between four photographic works. Each of the four artists dialogues with his model. Often from a different angle, with different motives and a different purpose.

Belgian photographer Dirk Braeckman (1958) approaches his models with striking tenderness. Often, you only see a shoulder, a leg or a back.

The Dutch ‘fotograficus’ Gerard Fieret (1924 – 2009) is also notable for the personal relationship he seems to have with his model. He uses the camera to create an intimate relationship.

At the request of Dutch conceptual photographer Paul Kooiker (1964), the model takes various poses, the artist then circling around him with his camera, as if doing body studies for a painting or sculpture.

For decades, Annelies Štrba (1947), a Swiss multimedia artist, has documented the life of her family in various series, including Shades of Time. His presentation at Be-Part includes 240 photos, digitally projected on three screens.
