The strength and comfort of enameled cast-iron. This slogan coined by Jacob Delafon was used in the early 20th century to sum up the benefits of a bathtub made by the foundry in Noyon, France. Today, those bathtubs are made in Fengxian, China.
Arnaud Chambon photographed the factory from April 2007 to February 2009, from the day they stopped production until the very end.
Arnaud was born in 1971. He worked briefly at the foundry in the early 1990s as the son of one of its employees. He is currently based in Paris and Picardie. This work was produced with the support of a grant from the Conseil Régional de Picardie.
