ARTE, loyal partner of the Rencontres d’Arles, offers a screening of a documentary directly linked to one of the exhibition of the programmation of the Rencontres d’Arles 2023, Casa Susanna.
In the 50s and 60s, in the middle of the vast American countryside, a small wooden house was home to the first underground network of transvestites.
Diane and Kate are now 80 years old. At the time, they were men. They tell us this almost forgotten story, at a time when gender identity was beginning to be defined.
