Nathalie Gallon, director of the Carmignac Gestion Photojournalism Award, explains to us the reason for her presence in Arles. “I have two winners with me. First, an exhibition is on display at the IN, following the publication of Lashkars, milice civile au Pachtounistan (Actes Sud).” A signing with the 2010 winner Massimo Berruti will be held Saturday, July 7 at the bookstore.
This month, Carmignac Gestion began accepting submissions for the 4th edition of the prize. This year’s theme is Chechnya. The deadline is September 30. “I’ve met a lot of big names in photojournalism at Arles who expressed an interest in submitting. The prize is open to all professionals, and this year’s jury is eager to discover new styles.”
