Anna Bambou, White nights

Preview

The white nights or sleepless nights are the days without end and the nights without rest. They are the hours of wandering as we pace up and down through our memories. Here we enter Anna Bambou’s white nights. Since we started asking everyone who knew her to tell us about her, she left without leaving a forwarding address. For the installation of Nuits Blanches, an original creation conceived in a Romanesque chapel, she arranged the walls and revisited the space recreating the setting, mixing a cabinet of curiosities and a bourgeois salon. In this way, the spectators are invited to immerse themselves in the photographer’s memories through the objects left there and an installation of 122 photographs. There are two opposing versions of the story: with Je crois aux nuits it is the knife thrower  telling us of his memories; and in Nuits Blanches it’s her version that we discover through a letter addressed to us.
