This year the New York Staley-Wise Gallery is exhibiting major work by Irving Penn (Harlequin Dress: Lisa Fonssagrives-Penn, 1950), Richard Avedon (Jean Shrimpton in evening dress by Galitzine, hair styled by Alexandre de Paris, Paris, 1965), Lillian Bassman (Night Bloom: Anneliese Seubert in Givenchy Haute Couture by John Galliano, Paris. The New York Times Magazine, 1996), and Bert Stern (Marilyn Monroe: From the Last Sitting, 1962 (Pink Roses) and Marilyn Monroe: From the Last Sitting, 1962 (Blue Roses). The selection of fashion photographs reflects the contents of the gallery’s archives.
