The photo laboratory Central Dupon, in association with the Galerie Les Filles du Calvaire, presents an exhibition of the work of the Turkish artist Yusuf Sevinçli, curated by Nathalie Gallon. Based in Istanbul, the photographer already showed his work in France, most recently at the Festival “Portraits” in Vichy last summer. Having graduated from Marmara University in 2003, with a communications major, he enrolled the following year in a Master Class on documentary photography at Nordens Fotoskola, in Sweden. It was then that he began building a personal body of work organized in several photographic series, including Good Dog, which were featured in numerous solo and collective exhibitions in Turkey, in Europe, and around the world (among others, at the Moscow International Month of Photography; at the PhotoBiennale in Thessaloniki; at the Italian festival Reggio Emilia Fotografia Europea; at the Noorderlicht International Photofestival in the Netherlands; and at FotoFreo, the Freemantle Festival of Photography in Australia). Since 2008, his work has also often appeared in print, in collective publications (e.g. Image Makers, Image Takers: The Essential Guide to Photography, Thames&Hudson) as well as in various international magazines.
