Starting tomorrow over a month, World Press Photo will present its 2017 winners at the Centre de Cultura Contemporania de Barcelona (Contemporary Cultural Center of Barcelona). The opening will occur tomorrow at noon. Conceived by the Photographic Social Vision Foundation, a partner of the World Press Photo for many years now, the exhibition will be scheduled readings, portfolios, conferences and guided tours.
Every year, the event in Barcelona attracts a very wide audience. In 2016, the exhibition gathered more than 56,000 visitors, discovering both the winners of the annual competition and their sensitive, political and journalistic works offering insight and immersion in hot topics of our international news.
On May 4, an encounter with the winner of the second general prize, Santi Palacios shouldn’t be missed. Collaborator for the Times, CNN or El Pais, Palacios has done a remarkable journalistic work by applying the same method: following the route of the migrants from their countries of origin to Europe.
