The province of Walikale in the Democratic Republic of Congo, is representative of North Kivu by its isolation, its armed militia and the richness of its soil. Men take up arms. Women are victims of rape and mutilation.
Through fifteen portraits and women’s interviews, I wanted to see their daily life and highlight their living conditions.
I chose to work with the 4×5. This device requires respect, the look is asked, thoughtful and aware.
Not used to be free to speak, women do it in order to further our understanding of everyday life.
