This is the second installment of Robert Mann Gallery celebrating Women’s History Month by presenting the works of four photographers : Holly Andres, Julie Blackmon, Cig Harvey and Maroesjka Lavigne.
Holly Andres‘s photographs are full of curiosity and mystery. With her trademark chromatic brilliance, Andres’s large-scale photographs delve into dramatic narratives, revolving around themes of childhood and growing up. Drawing upon both personal and collective mythologies, Andres has developed a distinctive photographic language for her film noir-inspired, spectacular work.
Holly Andres was born in Missoula, Montana in 1977. She received her B.F.A. from the The University of Montana in 2002, and her M.F.A. from Portland State University in 2004. Andres’s work is included in the permanent collections of The Elton John Foundation Portfolio, Atlanta, Georgia; the Hallie Ford Museum of Art, Salem, Oregon; Portland Art Museum, Oregon; and the Columbus Museum, Georgia.
