Yesterday happened at the Palais Galiera – Paris fashion museum the 20th ceremony for the 2017 Picto Prize for Fashion. The jury president, Italian portraitist Paolo Roversi gave the first prize to Pascale Arnaud.
A native of Aix-en-Provence (France), aged 23 years-old, Pascale Arnaud is a graduate of the Gobelins school (Paris). Passionate about photography since he’s fifteen, his practice quickly evolved towards fashion photography. “I like to rely on the scenery to have my models displayed and show off the clothes worn,” said the one who freeze models in “bigs towers and unusual landscapes during his travels ”
The second prize was given to two French photographers Elsa Parra & Johanna Benaïnous. British William Waterworth won the third prize.
For 20 years, the Picto de la Mode Prize has been awarded to fashion photographers under the age of 35. He is one of the most recognized in this field and has allowed the emergence of several figures, such as Camille Vivier (2002), Louis Decamps (1998), Marjolijn de Groot (2003) or Oliver Fritze (2012).
