Sin Sin Fine Art presents the debut solo exhibition of Hong Kong- based Swedish photographer Andrea Björsell, showcasing 13 photographs of the city captured in 2020.
When you think of Hong Kong, you think of skyscrapers, neon lights and its vigorous pace. In this exhibition, Andrea unveiled another tale of the city by capturing candid, subtle interactions between everyday subjects and their surroundings. By following the footprints of Andrea in the familiar streets of the city, viewers are invited to a visual journey depicting a unique essence of Hong Kong in a tender and profound manner.
In this series of work, Andrea translates her poetic vision into mesmerizing visual narratives. Photography is not only about freezing an iconic moment, Andrea’s art of observing allows her to appreciate the little details of the city that we might not even notice. When the entire world is competing strategically to grab our attention, Andrea’s works allow our eyes to rest, to simply appreciate the genuineness and humanity of life. Through Andrea’s intimately-scaled compositions, observers can transcend through the camera, leading them into a time and place both distant but familiar.
