Random Fragments
The object in the object, the subject in the subject.
The further away you are from an object, the more you can see it as a whole. However, the closer you get to it, the more you can see other things.
The Random Fragments series brings together pictures of abandoned construction machinery. Disused utility vehicles that transform over time.
My artistic approach questions the concept of the visual deconstruction of a known element. I try to demonstrate that a part of a whole can become a new appearing. Here, the process is to freeze this new object in time by giving it a new photographic angle. In addition, passing from the object to the artwork, we can perceive in the new presentation, a unique imprint that gives it a singular look that the object does not have. The objects thus trapped are exposed as relics of our society.
My name is Serge Rondeau. I live in Saint-Hyacinthe, a remote suburb of Montreal, Quebec. I have been interested in artistic photography for more than thirty years.
Photographer, poster designer and illustrator, my approach exploits various themes affecting both the documentary style and the sociological approach. Most often, I make photographic series that tell a story with a minimal presentation of images.
Today, I continue to learn, to refine my knowledge of this art and to find deep satisfaction in it.
