Editions de La Martinière has just published Sabine Weiss, L’œil Multiple, it is the official catalogue of the retrospective exhibition that opens this weekend at the Jeu de Paume in the Château de Tours.
The book retraces the career and the works of the Swiss photographer Sabine Weiss, an exceptional woman who is also the last representative of the post-war, French humanist school.
Produced with the help of Sabine Weiss’ personal archives, the book brings together 180 illustrations (black and white photographs, facsimiles of press cuttings, original hand-written documents…) that are the reflections of this exceptional woman’s daily life where she skilfully blends poetry, spontaneity and social observation.
