Its a series of photographs taken over a period of 3 years in my hometown Rotterdam (The Netherlands ). In this series i photographed bicycles that i came a cross while going from a to b with a little 35mm analog compact camera that i always carry with me. The bicycles that i photographed were all bicycles from which 1 or more parts where stolen. I noticed that a lot of times when a bicycle part is stolen, people just leave them on the street without trying to replace the missing part. This could be a reflection of our western mentality in which objects become more and more disposable. This absurd phenomenon results in a lot of “cadavers of bicycles” on the roads without nobody ever looking at them, not even in a funny way they are just part of the Dutch street scene.
