I am 55 years old, I am a dual national (Italian-US). I have lived in New York for 36 years. I started photographing in high school, and worked as an assistant to Hiro after I graduated from Sarah Lawrence College in 1977.
Shot over nearly three decades, the photographs in this portfolio were largely selected from the my book of portraits of people with their dogs, also called Best Friends (Rizzoli 1989). It was the first book of its genre and became an bestseller, featured in Time magazine and other publications.
