Created in 2010, the Printemps Photographique de Pomerol has gradually established itself in the cultural landscape of still images. The formula of this festival, unique in more than one way, has undoubtedly changed from what the public could see elsewhere. No doubt because the organizing association “Image & Lumière”, with Stéphane Klein at the helm, was able to take a step aside from traditional photo exhibitions. Concretely, the pictures scroll down on a giant screen and are contextualized live by their author. The sense of pedagogy, taste for others, refusal of thematic shackles: these are some of the ingredients which, from edition to edition, have allowed the PPP to make a name for itself, and even an acronym.
Guests of this 13th edition, Pierre de Vallombreuse and Axelle de Russé will take part in the guided projection exercise. On the exhibition side, the local and regional dimension will remain a strong focus of the programming, with Annaëlle Le Roy, Maya Paules, Eric Cron and the “iconomecanophile” (The camera collector)Pascal Peyrot. Saif, represented by its general director Olivier Brillanceau and its vice-president Pierre Ciot, will celebrate its 25 years of existence during the Friday evening which will be entirely dedicated to it, the technology generating images thanks to AI will also be found in the viewfinder at Gilles Courtinat’s conference, while Fatima de Castro and Catherine Plouidy will provide a welcome update on “the two Nadars”. For one month, a large-format Nadar exhibition will also be in the spotlight in the Pomerol vineyard.
