Pierre Winther was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1964. In 1985, the young autodidact came to Paris to draw inspiration and give concrete expression to his ideas.
His photographs seem to be details of a much larger photograph, scenes taken from a story that the viewer is free to imagine. Pierre Winther tests and deconstructs value systems by bringing together unlikely and contrasting elements. The most dramatic events often reveal a sense of banality, and the result is in an extreme provocation.
