Laura Torrado’s work is introspective. Photography has enabled her to explore other forms of expression, such as dance or drama. Using resources linked to stage design she creates scenes that allow her to explore the body and the face in a wide range of aspects. This retrospective looks at her work from 1993 to 2013. Photographs, videos and drawings constitute the main format of all her pieces. Her work hinges on criteria extracted from sculpture, performance and acting.
Laura Torrado (Madrid, 1967) completed her bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, where she recently completed her doctorate summa cum laude.
