Miriam Naeh – As part of ‘Tired Beings’ : ‘Mammals’, 2020
Please Queue Here is a multidisciplinary curatorial platform supporting a new generation of artists. Through a nomadic exhibition model, PQH traces current discourses and artistic discussions in dialogue with the artists we work with. We are passionate about testing novel formats that stimulate knowledge transfer and require the constant probing and questioning of established methods. Please Queue Here does not represent artists in the traditional sense, but works with artists in a collaborative, flexibel model. Artists worked with include: Miriam Naeh, Rachel Cheung, Phillip Reeves, James Sirrell, and Héloïse Delègue.
As for our approach to photography, since we are a multidisciplinary platform we encounter photography in very diverse ways. In our work with the younger generation of artists, we see a lot of artists that incorporate image making into their practice and treat the medium of photography as something that extends into their installations to gain sculptural capacities. This is the same for Miriam Naeh, who we are showing at Photo London 2022. Her installation is centred around a large-scale photograph that depicts an intimate, vulnerable scene and includes reconfigured every-day objects that have migrated into this sphere, in which they appear as organic growths and as strange invaders at the same time.
