All Saints
Saints were omnipresent in my daily life as a child.
The houses I visited were full of statues, novena candles, postcards with saints. During the processions, the village community shuffled to chapels that stood on street corners or in the middle of fields.
These images were important icons, they fulfilled their role in our society. Today, the vast majority of these statues serve as decoration.
Many chapels are hardly maintained.
This series “”All Saints” simultaneously looks back and to the present.
