From the sidelines
The Gothia Cup in Gothenburg, Sweden, is the world’s largest and most international soccer cup for youth. Every year around 1900 teams from 80 nations participate and they play 4700 matches on 110 fields. And with them parents and families that cheer for them. The energy around the soccer fields is many times intense, almost electric. In this series from the 2023 cup I have concentrated on all that happens outside the fields. The crowd cheering, teams warming up or taking cover from the rain and those sweet moments of victory.
